Castles + Quilt tops
progress on my Gemma quilt
This quilt gives me castle vibes. Maybe it’s the angled patchwork, which reminds me of castle windows, or maybe it’s the rich Anna Maria fabrics in combination with royal blue.
At any rate, the design and colors together feel luxurious and royal. I have a feeling that this quilt belongs in a home that adores color. It would fit beautifully in my living room/sewing studio, but I have enough quilts as it is. =)
And now, a quilt top! Can you spy the extra wide gems? They’re perfect as vignettes for the larger, showier prints in my fat quarter bundle.
Now, it’s time to create a backing and quilt her up!

I have many large scale prints that this would be perfect for. I really enjoyed making those blocks anyway so if I have scraps big enough, I’m going to tackle this! But first I have to finish tapestry garden as a wedding gift in August.
Beautiful work! I'm getting a festive, folk art feel from it.
