This is gorgeous. I love the colours and the different shades of blue in the zigzag give it depth. 😍

Thanks, Kim. I am so happy with how the blue turned out.

Like Denise, I too love the ‘back’! Is there a way for you to share this quilt with Anna Maria? If I were a designer of fabrics, I would be grateful to YOU for showcasing ‘my’ fabrics! Ronda

Thanks, Ronda. Yes, I will share it with her/her team. =)

I love the quilt. But I kind of like the backing fabric the best. This would be a great reversible quilt. I'm going to have to find some of the fabrics for my stash. Will we be seeing a pattern soon?

Hi Denise. The Gemma pattern will be included as a free bonus pattern to members of the Tapestry Garden club. I may also release it as a stand alone pattern next year, and do a quilt-along then.

I like how you worked the colors into bands--that worked well. And the quilting is so pretty. Go Rachel!

Aw, thanks Louisa!

Another Swan! Congrats on another beautiful work of art. I find the opposite re the quilting on the gems. To me it "joins them up", brings the row together as one. Did you do the blue quilting freehand on a regular machine?

Rachel LaBour's avatar

Oh, that's good to hear that you like how the gem quilting connects them. That was my intention =). No, I did not freehand the blue quilting. That was also with my longarm.

I think your quilting design is perfect for the patchwork design…. Elevating for sure!

Really? That's so nice to hear!
