Here comes some happy scrappy fun! It’s pattern release day. Sound the trumpets for my newest pattern - - -
Parsnips!
Sew away your cares. Find space to unwind and breathe, all the while making something beautiful from your castoff bits and pieces.
Parsnips is a no-fuss scrap quilt with star-studded sashing!
It’s my favorite kind of scrap project - All Colors In. That means that you can use pretty much every random scrap in every color, also the multicolored ones. That’s right, just dig through your scrap bins recklessly cutting fabrics into the right size with total faith that together they are going to make a fabulous quilt.
Afraid your quilt will turn into color mud? Not with Parsnips. The bold, colored sashing will imbue your quilt with instant personality, while also causing scraps to feel more cohesive. It’s easy and fun! Why not give it a try?
And those clever little stars in the quilt sashing? They bring the magic as well. The stars form a grid of repetition and contrast that further unify the whole work.
On the one hand the making process is totally brainless and restful (the patchwork), on the other hand those pointy stars inject just the right element of challenge to keep you engaged. I can’t wait to start my second Parsnips quilt during our sew-along this May!
Simple patchwork - it never fails to charm, am I right? This pattern was love at first sight for lots of us, and you’re going to fall even harder once you start sewing.
Over the next two weeks I’ll talk more about the sew-along and announce a kick-off giveaway. You can get started now by reading through the first few pages of the pattern, and auditioning options for your colorful sashing. As always, I’m eager to see what you sew!
SEW-ALONG COMING SOON!
Check back next Monday for the sew-along master post. You are welcome to use the button to spread the news. Thanks!
We get started May 12th! Until then you can - - -
So glad you went for the Parsnip option! I’m very much looking forward to making this quilt. x
Can't wait to see what color you choose for the sashing. I am going to guess it will be pink or orange. I am digging through my scraps right now to see if I have enough variety to sew along.
