Pieces and patches
when life follows patchwork
Could life be like patchwork?
A pile of colorful, loosely-coordinating scraps, plus strips of restful background. Peaceful chain piecing, pressing and joining until something stable and balanced emerges: the quilt block.
A simple layout. A project and process that invites play, especially at the edges.
Rewarding, indisputable progress.
With everything coming together - slowly, but surely - into a beautiful whole.
I think it can be, at times.

The colors are really quite delightfully playing together. For being square, which some times feels heavy, these pieces are light and breezy feeling. I would love to see this quilt laid down on a field of grass, kinda like “Sunday in the park with George.” Can’t wait to see this finished.
My quiltmaking analogies are cutting apart/coming together, order from chaos, and of course the OG, "making use of what I have." Loving the colors in this piece. You seem to be in your Pink Period. 💞
