I’ve been making progress on my Scrap Cabin quilt, and so are you! We’re in the thick of week 3, with the quilt center coming into shape. Exciting stuff!

WEEK 3 GOAL
12 Scrap Cabin blocks
Here comes the last round of log cabin blocks. I hope that you can savor that patchwork flow. I did and now my quilt center is complete! I even joined the clusters (sets of 4 blocks), just to tidy up my design wall.
Yay, I love it! I was able to use soooo many scraps, especially low volume ones in light colors, which I otherwise tend to neglect. I even used multicolor prints in my last cluster, which is multicolor + browns. That palette felt like a bit of a risk, but I like how it turned out.
Our chat thread is full of inspiring sew-along photos. What fun! I see that lots of you are already working on the border blocks, which are definitely more tricky than these log cabin centers.
I too have started cutting my border strips, making piles of lights and darks. If you are working ahead on the border blocks, note that all fabrics should be right side up when you stack them together to subcut the angles.
Very cool news - we have a new finale prize for USA participants! Curly Girl in Stitches will be offering a nice longarm coupon for everyone and a generous prize for one lucky winner. Details to be announced on January 27th, as we enter the last week of the sew-along. Keep on stitching!
