Terry Burp Cloths
and rather big news
The month of May is peppered with school holidays in The Netherlands. Summer vacation doesn’t start until early July, but May is definitely school “light”. Elora and I took advantage of one her days off to make a batch of burp cloths.
Elora helped me with pressing fabric, while I cut flannel pieces 10.5” x 12.5”. Then I asked her to use this bowl to mark curves at all four corners of each flannel top.
I cut the curves myself and then sewed the flannel tops right sides together with a larger terrycloth rectangle.
Elora lost interest pretty quickly, as she’s just not that into the sewing process, not in pressing, cutting nor running the machine. Who knows, maybe someday! She does enjoy the fabrics. ;) We all get that!
So on that note, she did enjoy helping me pick out which fabrics Aria might like…. since these burp cloths are for Aria’s baby boy, due to arrive in September.
Yes, I am officially becoming a grandmother. But can talk about that later? Much later.
For now, just focus on the burp cloths. Aren’t they cute?
And cuddly.
I made the same ones when I was pregnant about a decade ago with Eleni. I’m still using them as cleaning cloths, and they’re so thick and pretty. So I am sure they’ll be handy for the mom-to-be.

WAUW! Congratulations! That is intense news. You have experienced a LOT in your short life and this year. I hope you take a nice relaxing vacation this summer. It will be very well deserved!
Congratulations grandma (uh ... er Rachel :) ) Such happy news. Those burp cloths are cute.
