I’m look forward to learning how you make all of those beautiful but different-size blocks fit together. What a luscious collection of blue ripples!

Ah, yes, I'll try to share that in my next post about the quilt.

I absolutely love this quilt! Pattern in the future????

Rachel LaBour's avatar

Thanks, but no! I can't imagine trying to write this pattern. That would turn into quite a book because of all the different blocks. =)

Well, it is certainly going to be a wonderful quilt!

This is just beautiful! We did a similar theme in our modern quilt guild charity quilt - colors and all. When we assembled it, it reminded me of Santorini!

Seems like the layout would be easy, with a limited palette, but I think when there are endless possibilities it can be a challenge…

I try not to overthink it. There are many "right" answers in this case.

The balancing block really works!

This is pretty. I love all of the blocks, each of them really a gem.

Yes, it is super hot here too. 82º already on my shaded screened in porch. Yes, humid too. It will be close to 100 today! Wind is fun and great until it completely obliterates your design all. 🤪

Yup! Stay cool, friend.

Can’t wait to see the finish!

Love it! 💙💙. That surprisingly big and out of scale block is just perfect. I love quilts with unusual and/or asymmetrical design elements like that. It is surprising how “difficult” it seems to be for us or our brains to come up with ideas like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really look forward to seeing where you take this, and totally understand why you don’t want to create a pattern. Some quilts are just organic and can only be made once.

I sometimes get annoyed that everybody always want a pattern for everything - and I’m not speaking here to you, Jan Creedon here, sorry. I just feel like sometimes it’s as if people are afraid of being creative on their own or maybe don’t even know how? If that’s the case it’s really sad.
