Hi, Jan. I always press my seams open. Then when it is time to sew the rows together, I match the flat, open-pressed seams pretty easily. Since this quilt has relatively big pieces, I don't find it very demanding to sew together, actually. So long as you sew the triangles to the half hexagons properly, you have plenty of seam allowance to keep all the diamond points sharp.
