I love the freedom to try something and drop it if it goes no where. ❤️ I'm so glad you've felt it here. I actually think your rosemary flowers are beautiful. If it was me, I would put the rectangles back in scrap, and keep the flowers for a later inspiration. Maybe pouches or gifts? I can't wait to watch your Evensong grow! Xx

Happy New Year! The evensong quilt is lovely, I started one years ago during a RoseStar Summer workshop. But now I'm hooked on the Ice Cream Soda quilt blocks! I work on so many quilt projects at the same time as I am suffering from sewing inertia! Only a few days ago I picked up my Big Woods BOM quilt after not havng worked on any quilt for about 6 weeks. And now I'm enthousiastic again!

Rachel, you've just explained how & why us quilters end up with UFO's and more than one project going at once.

I just finished a quilt (using your QAYG method, different pattern.) I love the colors and the fabrics. It was so much fun to sew. It's an improv quilt and I couldn't wait to see it done. And then ... meh ... it turned out "OK". All I have left is the binding. Typically when I get to the binding of a quilt I do it quickly, after all it's the finishing up of a quilt. But then my rotary cutter got strange and I can't get it working right. I'm going to stop at my local quilt shop and see if they can show me what is going on. So I've stalled, at the end of all places. I don't know when I'll be able to get to the shop, maybe next week or it may be the week after.

Oh yes, I would love to do something with your Rosemary EPP, I was so motivated by yours that after your post I bought the pattern but have yet to start it… maybe soon I will. But if yours needs a home I would finish it… I kind of love doing that… when our guild has its annual WIP’s / orphan blocks swap, I love getting a few and finishing them….

What a beautiful pattern! My sewjo often leaves me when I get preoccupied with the busyness of life). But when I go out to my hive

(My sewing room) then the world fades away and I get to play!

That's true for me too. How I love to sink into the flow of sewing!

This is why we have 8 or more projects going at the same time.

Yes there is confusion, but it keeps our brains healthy - just keeping track!!

Perhaps this is a good project to start - Evensong. It looks beautiful!

I go through a lot of sewing inertia. We live in such a small space that when the table gets groceries or other things on it, that stops all sewing/cutting/ironing on the same surface. It is time to clear it off so I can work on my present quilt again.

Oh, I feel for you. It's so hard when you don't have a dedicated space to work on your project. I've been there.
