Seeing this set now is making me think about the whole colour layout. I dont want to end up with a crazy purple corner and then a wishy-washy blue patch in the opposite corner. I have cut greens and primrose colours with a smidge of brown for the bottom end patio so I can give the big flower a flourish when the time comes. Chose some "organic" K Fassetts for the spikes. The colours are spiky and uncomfortable too. Lots to think about.
I have to be honest, when I first saw the colors you were considering for this quilt along, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it! Wow, was I wrong!😉 You have such a talent bringing colors together! This is coming along beautifully, Rachel! can’t wait to see the next one!
I'm agreeing with Karen, I wasn't particularly excited about the color scheme. However as the photo gallery continued, I saw something other than a quilt! I see a fabulous JACKET! What a wonderful design this would be! Continue being amazing Rachel!!!
The way running out of that Decostitch fabric ended up working in your favor is such a good reminder. Sometimes constraint breeds better decisions than unlimited options would have. Also really like how deliberate the value choices are here, the dark gray reads way better than that eggplant would've in context.
Rachel, I subscribed to the TAPESTRY GARDEN BOM because I wanted to be learn from you and your “Superpower”—COLOR. The quiet, introverted color scheme you are currently working with has caused me to dig deep to understand. After watching the pieced fabric parts come together, I now see how the darks and mediums meld together seamlessly. This is exactly the kind of lesson in color I was looking for when I signed up for the BOM. Thanks very much!👏🙌
I enjoy how you explain the process of selecting the colors and textures. The block s are very pretty. Thanks

Love these colors! And your display is a great reminder to put everything together to see how the various blocks work together.
Yes, do that! It helps me so much to see everything together. Then the quiet blocks show their value too.

Thank you! Here, here for constraint. Most of us have plenty of that, I'm sure.
Hi Rachael, I subscribed late and only have the initial instructions. I don’t know how to get my monthly patterns. Thanks!
I'll be in touch!
