Triangles all in a Row
cutting and sewing a baby blanket
Now that I’ve chosen fabrics, it feels easy to get started with Michael’s baby blanket. First I’ve cut about one hundred 3" tall triangles with the Tri-Recs ruler. These little triangles will finish 2.5” tall.
Arranged so, they create a framework for the patchwork. Each and every row will alternate between Kona Cornflower triangles and 13 triangles in a print fabric.
Our favorite print is this Cotton & Steel mice in pale gray. I will create three rows in total of the mice print, so that it becomes the secondary theme of the patchwork.
Now to add the other rows, using my other print fabrics. I intentionally spread out the low value prints and the dark value prints, so that no one area becomes light or dark.
Wow, that was quick! Usually sewing small-scale patchwork is quite a long term process. For this wee little blanket, each row came together in about 10 minutes.
I think it already looks soft and sweet, and will only get better when it’s quilted with that plush sherpa. Yay.

Love the mice! :))
So lovely🥰
