It’s a classic block with rectangle pieces, which make use of our leftover bits so nicely. The star-studding, colorful sashing transforms a disparate miss-mash of scraps into one beautiful whole. Download the PDF Pattern and start right in on the fun.

THE QUILT
This pattern developed when I needed an easy, comforting patchwork during a complicated life transition. I started by finding a solid color in my stash to serve as a bold and unifying sashing. The sashing sets the mood of the work, while the stars make it twinkle. Choose a star color that contrasts in value with the sashing for a nice pop.
Throw size: 59” x 59” or Baby size: 40” x 40”
Got Scraps? Sewing with scraps is not just economical, it also brings so much satisfaction. It’s just amazing what you can make from a pile of cast offs, even when they’re not all favorite fabrics.
If you are new to quilt-making or haven’t saved many scraps, there’s no time like the present to start your scrap collection. Winter Creek Cloth sells scrap bundles for just $7.50 per 1 1/2 yard. Or opt for a tantalizing bundle, as beautiful fabrics make beautiful scraps. Don’t forget basics and solids too! Simple scraps like these Starry charm squares help your fancier scraps shine in an anything-goes kind of scrap quilt, such as Parsnips.
Scraps are the fabrics that just keep giving! They multiply like rabbits, so I can assure you that once you start collecting you’ll never be short on them again!
THE SUPPLIES
Begin by choosing your sashing color. It’s surprising how different the same scraps can feel, when you surround them with a different tone. Any color that you love will work as a sashing color, I promise!
Then add a contrasting star. The stars can be all one fabric or have different star centers - whatever suits your fabric collection.
Most of the fabrics can be sourced from an average fabric stash. Yay for resourceful projects! More details are included in the pattern:
