Love your sewing room! So much light....lovely! I love those IKEA pegboards. I found one at a yard sale for $2 on Saturday and it has some clips and hooks! I'm currently figuring out where to hang it. Inspired by you!

Such a lovely space to create in, Rachel. Those tall windows are perfect, adjoining rooms, and the ideal dimensions to house your longarm - a blessing all the way around.

I admire your flexibility in adapting family life to new spaces.

Maybe I've missed something, but is this your third move or more?

Congratulations to you and your family!

You're right - I've moved a lot in the last few years. After we arrived in The Netherlands and settled in, I've moved 3 more times (including last week). It's exhausting and not recommended! The last two moves were a result of my divorce - getting things sorted takes time. Our new home is meant to be long term, and I do hope that it is!

Oh, what a lovely space for your creativity to flow. I love the entry way and two side rooms; one for sewing and one for quilting... what a dream come true. You must be over the moon, and that is so wonderful. I'm so happy for you!

WOW love the new "office" it is very bright and lovely. I love everything about this space.

Your fabric shelves are so neat and tidy. My sewing space always looks like an explosion.

We will see, now my sewing space is upstairs in our new house and I have just about everything moved in. It does look like an explosion, but I will get it sorted. I have managed to actually move two design walls (on heavy duty felt) to the new house. That was tricky.

I am so happy to see this space in your new house!

So glad you decided to show us pics - I love your rooms and wonderful lighting too! Do you have to worry about the sun fading fabrics etc? It looks like your fabrics are organized by colors, right? I need to organize my fabrics better! Thank you and what a great home!

Hi Susan. I don't really worry about sun fading my fabrics. I'd rather take that chance by having them out and inviting use than have them less accessible. In the last 15 or so years, I've noticed fading a few times, but then it's just one line where the fabric was folded. I can still use the rest of the fabric.

Ooohh, thank you for the studio tour! It looks like you have most of the first floor for a studio, lucky you! So much work wall potential! I can't wait to see it in person soon ;-) One of things I used to have that I miss is one giant cutting mat that covered my entire elevated 4'x8' table (my back was so happy then). I'll send you a picture. They sell them here to custom sizes but helaas, my table size here was too small for a custom order. It was so nice to have an entire cutting table since I worked quite large.

Wow, a 4' x 8' cutting table is HUGE! I can see why you miss it. Do you work smaller now? Your comment has me thinking that maybe instead of hanging the quilt behind the longarm, I could have a second design wall there. That's not a very convenient place for a design wall, but it is nice to have a place to very visually "store" a quilt in progress. hmmm

I wish I worked smaller but I don't think I will so it's a challenge. I'm currently using 4 large cutting mats on one table. Ohh, it's never a bad idea to have two work walls! You have multiple projects so it would make sense for you. And to tempt you, here is the link to the Rhino table and cutting mat. I miss them SO much. Their UK branch says they ship to the EU .. : https://www.speedpress.com/RhinoTables?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20377069353&gbraid=0AAAAAD_iJKrZUSyRupDAA_scQKCw3j602&gclid=CjwKCAjwg7PDBhBxEiwAf1CVuy9Ja4EgMgWpbvrBygaUWIgee-nmSV-wXNxKKZ5DtLlvwatnPxVKsRoCoc0QAvD_BwE

So clean, neat, organized and filled with light! I have an idea for hanging quilts temporarily and requires no nails etc. Use clear plastic pant hangers and hang from the door frame.
