Your color choices are so beautiful and calming! You and Aart have accomplished so much this past few weeks! How exciting that you’re all moving in on Friday! It will be so nice to have all that space in such a beautiful home.

Thanks, Karen. It's far more home than I deserve. I can hardly believe it, to be honest.

It’s a lot of work, but will be satisfying and uniquely you and Aart when you’re finished.

Thanks, Amber! The floors are being refinished for the second time today (first time they messed up). Fingers crossed! They make a big difference on how the colors look as well.

All the paint colors go together so well…. Also, I can see it now, your bedroom color and deco quilt are going to compliment each other perfectly… its certainly a lot of work, hope you’re able to take walks and breathers… so that when you come back to working you have motivation and supply… or maybe you will need a get away after its all done…

We definitely need a getaway, like pronto! We haven't been taking enough breaks, to be honest, because there is so much to do and it's so much easier to do it all before we get moved in. For example, tomorrow I am going to be sanding an unfinished wooden beam ceiling in the attic, because nothing else is in the room yet and sanding makes SUCH a mess. This way it'll be easiest to clean up. Thankfully, we have a getaway planned in July.

Ooh, I like the green. I like all of the colors. The green is pretty much the same green in my kitchen with my white cabinets and drabby corian countertops. It looks good. I am not repainting it "agreeable grey" like one agent suggested... nope

Your move is exciting. Mean time, are you still at the old place?

Anyway, moving is fun and exhausting, especially when you are down sizing to live in a mouse house haha 😆 but we are taking our time because we can!

I love the bathroom tile, and just all of the lovely photos of your new place. your back yard looks cosy. Ours will be cozy too. There are always house projects.

My new sewing space looks like a disaster and my old sewing space looks like a dismantled disaster.

Let's just get this move process over with and in the winter we can clean up the chaos, - well that is my plan.

I love all of the colors you are using.

WOW! It looks amazing! Don't worry about your bathroom. I'll bet it is fully functional by Friday. You'd be surprised at how quickly the work goes once you are to the surface stuff like tile and fixtures.

Your windows let in so much light, and the garden off the dining room looks gorgeous and cozy.

I love the woodwork and those built-in shelves. You must be absolutely thrilled!

The kitchen is so original but I really like the way those countertops pull the pink walls and dark cabinetry together with light. It is going to be absolutely beautiful and I hope you'll show "after" shots too.

Thanks for that encouragement, Jennifer. Our contractor feels confident about the bathroom being done in time, but it is hard to believe, haha. We're definitely cutting it close, but that's how construction always goes. Yes, I am absolutely thrilled, and I promise to show after pictures too.

Dankjewel Rineke. De tuin is echt bijzonder - klein maar fijn. Ik heb nooit zo een rustgevende tuin gehad. Groetjes!

Rachel, first of all how exciting!!! I'm happy for you. It's a LOT of work, but in the end very rewarding. You have a pretty view in the back. And oh, those ceilings. Magnificent. I must say you are a braver woman than me, climbing up that ladder to reach the top of your 11.5' HIGH ceilings!!! :-) (I'm afraid of heights.) But what a sense of accomplishment. The colors you chose are beautiful. And I don't know what you call it but the "art" on the ceiling is gorgeous. I have a vague memory of that in the home my grandmother grew up in (that was in our family till I was in my 20's). I wish you the best with your move. I wish you, Art and Elora much happiness, joy, laughter and blessings in your new home.

We will be moving soon, early July. I started packing weeks before we even found our new home. Still packing away. And as you know there is so much more to do. It's exciting though.
