BEST OF STITCHED IN COLOR {July}
On My Mind
Experimenting:: with ideas for next year’s block-of-the-month. In 2026 I will offer another unique, modern, BOM quilt pattern club along the lines of Pas de Deux and Positivities. I began sketching mid July and am very excited about what I have developed.
Guess what? The 2026 pattern club will include my Deco Bloom block and the Deco Bloom quilt will be a bonus pattern!!!
Reading:: Rode Sneeuw in December by Simone van der Vlugt. Aria gave me this book, a historical fiction novel set in The Netherlands at the time of the reformation and written in Dutch. I’m very much enjoying it!
Celebrating:: a lovely Lake Cabin quilt by Cyndy M.
This quilt strikes me as moody or pregnant, even though Cyndy has used soft lavender sashing and clear yellow tones. I’m drawn to the burgundy, green and brown, which feel heavy like a summer garden after a thunderstorm.
Anticipating:: finishing my Deco Bloom quilt. It’s a large and detailed quilt, which I’ve been working on for months now. The last blocks are in sight! I can’t wait to share the finish with you soon!

I really got a kick out of figuring out how to machine sew these half hexagons. There’s one y-seam for every three pieces, making it an entry level project to practice that skill. This tutorial shows you how!
This year has been tumultuous for me, as have the last few as well. I find myself tired and even jaded. Getting older is also getting wiser, which often hurts. But no matter what is happening, it is a gift to be able to create. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this space for me and for supporting my creative endeavors.
blessings,
